Michigan Senate Employee Salary Page

The Michigan Senate employs many hard-working, trained, dedicated, experienced people who perform public service work in a variety of jobs.  The Senate is proud of our workforce and believes legislative staff are paid a fair and competitive wage for the work they perform.  We are providing the following information so that members of the public can conveniently look-up, by job title, the pay of the people who are providing service to the Senate and citizens of the State of Michigan.

 

For example, many members of the public interact with a wide range of Senate employees from a Senator's receptionist, constituent relations staff, and legislative analysts to central staff employees such as policy advisors, fiscal analysts and Secretary of the Senate's staff.

 

Looking up job titles will provide an up-to-date range of pay for the several people who perform those services.

Senator's Salaries:  Senator salaries are set by the State Officers Compensation Commission (SOCC).  Senator's current compensation package is comprised of a set salary of $79,650, a travel and expense allowance of up to $12,000 per year, and mileage reimbursement for one round trip from home to Lansing per week.
