To support the restoration and reconstruction of Veterans Park following the April 2026 tornado, which caused extensive structural damage to the ice rink, baseball fields, and community swimming pool, as well as severe harm to essential operational infrastructure including electrical systems, HVAC, Compressors, water lines, and safety features. Veterans Park is a vital community asset serving youth athletic programs, veterans and seniors, low and moderate income families, and regional recreation leagues, and its closure has created significant gaps in accessible, affordable, and safe recreational opportunities. State funding is necessary to rebuild these facilities, ensure public safety, and restore year round programming for the diverse population that depends on the park for physical activity, community connection, and essential recreational services.
